Newport Beach Ethnic Rhinoplasty Cosmetic Surgery - Dr. Tavoussi

Because a nose is a central facial feature, most Newport Beach residents want to feel that their noses bring beauty to the face without drawing any undue attention. Some find that they are embarrassed by the shape or length of their noses, and others have developed a bump or other malformation on the nose bridge. Symmetry and smooth construction of the nose are vital, and some may wish to have a rhinoplasty to address any of these issues.

Newport Beach Ethnic Rhinoplasty Procedure

However, Newport Beach patients of differing nationalities, such as those who are African American, Hispanic, Asian or Middle Eastern, may find that a western rhinoplasty does not work for them. The shape of the nose in each of these cultures is slightly different from western noses, and these noses may have thicker skin, wider bases, increased sebaceous glands or other characteristics that cannot be addressed by some rhinoplasty doctors.

A Newport Beach ethnic rhinoplasty may be the answer in these cases. At OC Cosmetic Surgery Clinique, which serves the many communities throughout Orange County, our double board certified physician, Dr. Tavoussi, has years of experience working with people of all nationalities. In fact, he has perfected the ethnic rhinoplasty by creating several new techniques, such as the ART rhinoplasty used on very wide noses. He has lectured to other Newport Beach cosmetic surgeons on these and other techniques he has perfected over his twenty years as a cosmetic surgeon.

Newport Beach ethnic rhinoplasty is done under general anesthesia. Patients will be instructed to eat nothing after midnight on the day before the surgery, and the doctor will let them know what medications, if any, they should take. During the ethnic rhinoplasty, the surgeon will make incisions around the nose to lift the skin and underlying tissues. He will then reshape the bones and muscle into the desired shape before redraping the skin and suturing the incisions closed.

Newport Beach Ethnic Rhinoplasty – Pacifica Outpatient Surgery Center

All our rhinoplasties are performed at Pacifica Outpatient Surgery Center in nearby Huntington Beach. This same-day surgery center has well-trained, qualified staff, and the anesthetists have local hospital privileges. Patients will not need to stay overnight following the procedure. Instead, they will be instructed to rest with the head elevated at home until they come in to see Dr. Tavoussi a day or two following surgery. We are confident that each patient will be pleased with our Newport Beach ethnic rhinoplasty that respects the patient’s ethnicity and natural bone structure.
