Temecula dermal fillers are wonderful for individuals who are dealing with moderate signs of skin aging, most specifically deep lines and wrinkles that have set into the skin. These wrinkles are often called static wrinkles because they do not disappear when the face is at rest as expression lines do. Therefore, dermal fillers are a good solution for wrinkles that cannot be treated with topical creams and lotions and that would not respond to Botox or similar treatments.
There are several different types of Temecula dermal fillers that we use at OC Cosmetic Surgery Clinique. The two main types that we use are Juvederm and Restylane. Each of these is similar in how they act, but they have different molecule sizes, which may make one better than the other in certain situations. However, they are both hyaluronic acid fillers that work by physically filling in lines and wrinkles while also attracting moisture into the area naturally, which can further improve wrinkle reduction. Hyaluronic acid is found naturally in the body but can decrease in production as one ages. Therefore, this burst of hyaluronic acid can really improve the youthfulness of an area.
Getting dermal fillers is quite easy and only requires a short appointment. They can usually be applied in 15 minutes or so, and patients will only have to return for follow-up treatments every 6 to 12 months depending on the filler that was used. This is a minimally-invasive treatment that uses a small needle to inject the filler into the desired area. Many people do not require local anesthetic although some fillers come with local anesthetic included for the greatest comfort. After the procedure, the skin may be a little red in the area, but other side effects are more rare. Patients will notice some immediate changes in the area and will see full results within a week or two.
