California Ethnic Rhinoplasty

Dr. Tavoussi uses the Pacifica Outpatient Surgery Center just north of his Newport Beach office. While the patient is under general anesthesia, the surgeon will carefully cut around the nasal skin and tissues to allow him to access the underlying cartilage and bony structures. In some cases, a cartilage graft may be necessary. After reshaping the underlying structures, Dr. Tavoussi will replace the tissues and suture the incision in the skin closed. These incisions typically heal in such a way that they cannot be seen in public. This helps the person overcome any stigma and gives him or her confidence in public.

Because an Ethnic Rhinoplasty is an outpatient procedure, patients are sent home within a few hours of the end of surgery. This way the patient can rest and relax at home and will be able to take a prescription pain medication from the comfort of his or her own bed or easy chair. It is recommended that patients keep their head elevated for several days following surgery to decrease swelling.
