Dr. Tavoussi performs Newport Beach Body Lifts at Pacifica Outpatient Surgical Center, which serves the entire Orange County area. The procedure is done under general anesthesia and take two hours at a minimum. Some patients have a breast lift or augmentation done at the same time, and this can make the procedure last as long as five hours. Newport Beach patients will be allowed to recover for a few hours at the Surgery Center, but most are discharged to their own homes that evening. Many are surprised to learn that they will be walking around that very evening and that their pain will be well-controlled using an intra-incision pain pump, which helps to numb the affected areas. They will also be given a prescription for pain medication to control their discomfort fully.
It is important that patients come in for their follow-up appointments in Newport Beach several days after surgery. At the appointments, Dr. Tavoussi will evaluate the incisions to ensure that they are healing appropriately without infection and will remove the pain pump. Most patients also have one or more drains placed during the surgery; these will be removed at this appointment as well.
